TouchPoints are our newest devices in the Holistic Behavior/Mind Division. These tools are based on the trauma healing modality of EMDR. They are a less invasive approach requiring you to simply wear them on your wrists while we process your stress/trauma during a typical session with me. As with the Alpha-Stim, results can be felt immediately, but consistent use produces a cumulative effect. They help with trauma release, anxiety, stress, anger, and sleep
2. Mindfulness: Mindfulness is the practice of paying attention on purpose, in the present moment, without judging what you are observing. When feeling the effects of trauma or stress, simply stop and notice what you are feeling or thinking. Label it (“There’s that memory, and I am getting that feeling in my stomach.”). Sit and notice it without trying to push it away. Mindfulness brings awareness, and awareness is the biggest piece of the healing process. Remind yourself that you have the ability to bring mindful awareness to the negative “stories” you retell over and over and then change your story
